The Onboarding consultant is responsible for:
- Support the sales team with giving demo’s and preparing sales calls
- Getting acquainted with new clients, right after they sign-up, and understanding the customer specific needs in their use of Smartbooks
- Guide clients through the Onboarding steps, this can range from a couple of hours up to a couple of days for a specific client
- Pro-actively propose Best Practices in the client’s financial processes and act as a trusted advisor
- Provide training and explanation during the Onboarding sessions and once the client is up and running during regular use of the application
- Periodically check in with clients about their usage and experiences and explain and promote new functionalities
Nature of the work
The role is both hands-on and an intellectual challenge because you are working with a software solution that is easy to use but has various functionalities. It is your job to guide the client through onboarding: helping them to make the right choices and assist in configuration, training and support.
Personal characteristics / education
The Onboarding consultant has a:
- Bachelor level education with a business administration profile and is tech savvy.
- Proven track record in a consulting role with demonstrable experience in financial processes around reporting, budgeting and planning
- Analytical skills with an administrative mind set; being able to structure, analyse, interpret and document.
- Being able to balance hands-on execution attitude with a consultative attitude;
- Hands-on is required since in this start-up phase we expect you to be pro-active and flexible
- Consultative means that you will interact with clients from the start of their customer journey and you will need to advise, assist and support them
- As we grow further the role will evolve into 4 focus area’s: Pre-sales, Onboarding consulting, Customer support, Customer Success. As a next step you either specialise in one of these fields or you become the manager of 4 new colleagues.
